University of Nevada, Reno Extension’s 4-H State Expo will be part of the Nevada Junior Livestock Show and Sale.

After a 16-year break, the State Fair of Nevada is returning to the Nevada State Fairgrounds in Reno. With food vendors and entertainment, this family-friendly event celebrates agriculture and community in Nevada.

Featured events include the Nevada Junior Livestock Show and Sale, the University of Nevada, Reno Extension’s 4-H State Expo, an opening night ceremony and concert featuring bluegrass/country artist Caleb Montgomery, the Nevada Governor’s Sale of Champions, a drone show, carnival rides, the Made in Nevada Pavilion Farmers’ Market, Next Generation Junior Bull Riding, and more.

University of Nevada, Reno Extension is a sponsor of the fair, and will be involved in various activities, including providing the Desert Farming Initiative’s produce in the event’s farmers’ market and offering items for sale, such as meat from Wolf Pack Meats and Rafter 7 wool garments.

“Sponsors are doing more than just supporting the official State Fair of Nevada, they are helping build Nevada’s future,” Nevada Department of Agriculture Director  J.J. Goicoechea said. “Their contributions allow youth to learn and grow, bring communities together and ensure our state agriculture is celebrated and preserved.”

University President Brian Sandoval expressed excitement for the University’s involvement and the return of the State Fair.

“The State Fair of Nevada represents a unique opportunity for the community to enthusiastically embrace the revival of one of our state’s most cherished cultural and educational events,” he said. “There are many of us who can remember our first visits to the State Fair, and how those happy times filled our eyes with wonder and created lasting memories. With the return of the State Fair of Nevada this year, we have the chance to experience that wonder anew, and forge memories that will last a lifetime.”

General admission tickets are $12 for kids and $15 for adults on opening day, Thursday, June 11, and include access to the opening night concert featuring Caleb Montgomery.

General admission tickets for Friday and Saturday, June 12-13, are $7 for kids and $10 for adults, and add-on tickets for Friday’s special event, Next Generation Junior Bull Riding, are $15 for kids and $25 for adults.

All-inclusive wristbands for the duration of the official State Fair of Nevada, including special events like Next Generation Junior Bull Riding, are $30 for kids and $50 for adults.

A 20% off early bird discount is available through May 1 at statefair.nv.gov with code “EarlySFNV.”
