Nevada Athletics announced the recipients of its top senior honors Monday as Wolf Pack Baseball's Jayce Dobie was named the 2025-26 Doc Martie Award winner and Wolf Pack Swimming and Diving's Bailey Heydra earned the Ruth Russell Award.

Named for former Nevada men's basketball coach J.E. "Doc" Martie (1923-29, 1930-39) and former Nevada Director of Women's Athletics Ruth Russell (1948-69), the awards are given out annually to Nevada's top male and female student-athletes, respectively, in their final year of eligibility and in good academic standing.

Over his two seasons in Reno, Dobie appeared in 106 games batting .347 and posting an OPS of .958 with 140 hits including 31 doubles, a triple, 15 home runs and 77 RBIs. He was named to the All-Mountain West First Team in each of his seasons with the Wolf Pack and was one of 15 national semifinalists for the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year in 2026.

Dobie's versatility was on display at the plate, in the field and on the mound over his two seasons. In addition to his offensive production, Dobie made 17 mound appearances (all starts) as one of the Wolf Pack's midweek starters over the last two seasons, picking up three wins and striking out 48 batters over 58.0 innings of work.

Joining the Wolf Pack ahead of the 2025 campaign, Dobie immediately made an impact in the Mountain West. Originally from Santa Clara, California, Dobie batted .339 with 16 doubles, seven homers and 36 RBIs for Nevada, playing a key role in the Wolf Pack capturing its first Mountain West regular-season title since 2021.

He was voted to the Preseason All-Mountain West Team ahead of the 2026 season and lived up to the expectations batting .355 with a team-leading 75 hits including 15 doubles, eight homers and 41 RBIs. Dobie was the only member of the Wolf Pack to start all 51 games in 2026, with his season highlighted by a 24-game hitting streak from March 22-May 2 over which he batted .412 (40-for-97) with seven homers, five doubles and 24 RBIs.

Heydra is the first member of the Nevada Swimming & Diving team to earn the Ruth Russell Award since Andressa Cholodovskis was named the 2019-20 recipient.

From 2021-26, Heydra etched her name onto the long and distinguished list of Nevada divers. Beginning with her 1-Meter Springboard Mountain West title as a freshman, Heydra went on to earn three conference gold medals, nine medals overall (three gold, four silver, two bronze) and earned 11 All-Mountain West honors out of the 12 diving events in which she competed at the Mountain West Swimming & Diving Championships.

She won a second Mountain West gold on 1-Meter Springboard in 2025, then added her third by capturing the 3-Meter Springboard event in 2026. In her final season, Heydra claimed a gold medal and two silvers and was named the 2026 Mountain West Championships Diver of the Meet.

Heydra qualified for the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships in each of her four seasons with Nevada and was named Mountain West Diver of the Week an incredible eight times.

Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, Heydra has also represented her home country on the national stage during her time with the Wolf Pack. Heydra redshirted the 2023-24 collegiate season to pursue an Olympic berth with South Africa, which included competing at the World Aquatic Diving Championships in 2024. She also represented South Africa at the 2025 World University Games in Germany.
