The College had a number of new programs ranked in 2019

According to U.S. News and World Report, "schools are ranked according to their performance across a set of widely accepted indicators of excellence."

According to U.S. News and World Report, "schools are ranked according to their performance across a set of widely accepted indicators of excellence."

Rankings from U.S. News and World Report of top engineering schools for graduates were recently released, and the University of Nevada, Reno College of Engineering has ranked in the following positions:

  • College of Engineering: 141
  • Civil Engineering: 65
  • Electrical Engineering: 160
  • Environmental Engineering: 77
  • Materials Engineering: 90
  • Mechanical Engineering: 121

The College’s Department of Computer Science and Engineering also received the following rankings from CSRankings.org:

  • Department: 115
  • Robotics: 24
  • Human-Computer Interaction: 43

According to its website, CSRankings is entirely metrics-based and “weighs departments by their presence at the most prestigious publication venues.”

The ranking was created to “identify institutions and faculty actively engaged in research across a number of areas of computer-science, based on the number of publications by faculty that have appeared at the most selective conferences in each area of computer science.”
