As part of the Green Industry Continuing Education Series, University of Nevada Cooperative Extension presents "Pruning Basics" noon -1 p.m., May 2, at the Cooperative Extension Office in Washoe County, 4955 Energy Way in Reno. This program offers current, accurate, and useful information to Nevada's green industry that respects members' fast-paced schedules.

"Industry professionals often have a limited amount of time to maintain many landscapes," said Cooperative Extension Commercial Horticulture Program Coordinator Jenn Fisher, who helped coordinate the class. "Learning quick pruning tips to achieve healthy and aesthetically pleasing landscape plants is an important skill to have. Wendy will teach the basics of pruning from the point of view of the industry professional."

The class, taught by Certified Arborist and Cooperative Extension Horticulturalist Wendy Hanson Mazet will cover quick and easy ways to prune plants and maintain plant health. Mazet will also teach skills that meet the time restraints of the job. The class offers International Society of Arboriculture Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

The Green Industry Continuing Education Series provides current, research-based information to green-industry professionals. For upcoming classes, visit the series website.
