Wolf Pack football team saw its highest number of honorees in history

A record 50 Nevada student-athletes from fall sports earned Academic All-Mountain West honors last season, with the accolades announced by the conference office Thursday, Feb. 11.

The number was up by 12 from the total of 38 student-athletes honored for the same achievement at this time last year.

In order to qualify for academic all-conference honors, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic semester/quarter at the member institution, have a cumulative grade-point-average, at the member institution, of 3.0 or better, and competed in 50 percent of the team's varsity contests during the fall season.

The Nevada contingent was part of a league-record 571 student-athletes within the conference who were named to the team for the fall season, which consists of football, volleyball, women's soccer and cross country.

The Wolf Pack football team saw its highest number of honorees in history with 21 players earning academic honors in the fall. They are: Dameon Baber, Alex Bertrando, James Butler, Shane Cannon, Colton Concellos, Austin Corbett, Jordan Dobrich, Don Jackson, Lenny Jones, Adam Khouri, Bryan Lane, Jake Lacaden, Jeremy Macauley, Kalei Meyer, Ahki Muhammad, Malik Reed, Korey Rush, Tyler Stewart, Trevor Taft, Lucas Weber and Brent Zuzo.

The volleyball team placed seven on the team: Madison Foley, Kathryn Groenweghe, Kara Kasser, Sommer King, Madison Morell, Madison Thorpe and Sam Willoughby.

Representing the soccer team were: Katherine Davison, Alyissa Deronde, Daisha Jones-Oglesby, Stephanie Martini, Nikki Mitsuyasu, Rylee Peterson, Katie Prosser, Kelsey Quintos, Mackenzie Robinson, Erin Saxton and Hannah Wuensche.

The cross country was represented by: Alaina Anderson, Caitlin Devitt-Payne, McKenna Evans, Helen Mino Faulkner, Emily Myers, Shannon Palladino, Anna Preciado, Erika Root, Sidney Root, Marissa Suan and Meagan Wood.
