Summary
Brooke Jackson (she/her) serves as a Tribal Academy Program Coordinator. She is a First-Generation college graduate and an alumna of both the Upward Bound and TRIO Scholars Programs. Brooke earned her Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology and Audiology from the University of Nevada, Reno, and master's degrees in interdisciplinary studies and Nonprofit Management from the University of South Dakota (USD). During her time as a Graduate Assistant, Brooke was honored into the Students Tiospaye (extended Family).
Prior to her current role, Brooke served as the Coordinator of Native Student Services at USD, where she developed culturally responsive programming and wraparound student support services for Native students both in-person and online. She also served as a Multicultural Success Advisor in the Office of Multicultural Affairs at South Dakota State University and as a Graduate Assistant and Interim Director of Native Student Services at USD. She is passionate about creating pathways to and through higher education for Indigenous students through consistent, community-centered, and culturally responsive support.
Outside of work, Brooke enjoys reading across a variety of genres and spending time running outdoors.
