Your next engineering hire could be right here at the College of Engineering
The Engineering Career Center offers multiple ways for employers to engage with our students, including biannual career fairs, employer information sessions and on-campus interview opportunities.
“We want the best of the best, and this is where we think we’re going to find them,” Newtron Group project manager and University of Nevada, Reno alumni Steven Chapparro said at the fall 2024 Internship & Career Fair. “UNR offers a lot of things we’re looking for — students with drive and communication skills.”
Another alum returning to campus to recruit, Andrew Thompson of Redwood Materials, emphasized the importance of supporting and developing a strong local workforce.
“Redwood Materials is pretty invested in hiring UNR students because we’re trying to make an impact here in the local economy — the greater Reno area,” Thompson said.
Connect with students
The Career Center also works to facilitate connections between industry and students: the College has more than 20 student clubs eager to engage with experienced engineering professionals.
Industry professionals also are invited to volunteer for our biannual career clinics or to connect with students through the new mentorship lunch program.
