Summary
Philip G. (Phil) Satre is an accomplished business leader and board director with a long record of executive and nonprofit service. He retired in 2005 as chairman and CEO of Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc. after 25 years with the company, having joined in 1980 and rising through leadership roles, including general counsel, president, CEO and ultimately chairman.
Since retiring, Satre has served on the boards of several major corporations, including Nordstrom, NV Energy, Rite Aid, and International Game Technology. He is currently Non-Executive Chairman of the Board at Wynn Resorts. In the nonprofit sector, he serves as president of the National Center for Responsible Gaming, trustee of the National World War II Museum and director of the National Automobile Museum and the Stanford Alumni Association.
A Stanford University graduate, Satre earned his law degree from the University of California, Davis. He has received numerous industry honors, including induction into the American Gaming Association Hall of Fame and recognition as a Distinguished Nevadan by the Nevada Board of Regents.
