Summary

Burt Neuborne is the Norman Dorsen Professor of Civil Liberties Emeritus at NYU School of Law and a visiting professor at UC Berkeley Law. He is a founding legal director of the Brennan Center for Justice. Professor  Neuborne previously served as national legal director of the American Civil Liberties Union, has argued numerous cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, defended campaign finance reform and litigated major Holocaust reparations settlements exceeding $7.5 billion. Neuborne is also a prolific author on First Amendment and democratic theory and has written extensively on constitutional law, democracy and free expression.
