Calling all young alumni!

Dear, Nevada Young Alumni.

There is something special about being a recent graduate of the University of Nevada. You’re close enough to remember the late nights, the football games, the professors who changed your life — and far enough into your next chapter to be building something meaningful of your own.

Right now, we have an opportunity to bring that connection back to life.

The Nevada Young Alumni Chapter is being revived — and we are looking for the next generation of leaders to shape it.

Why this chapter matters now

Young alumni are navigating career shifts, new cities, new friendships, new families and new ambitions. There is tremendous value in having:

  • A space to stay connected to Nevada beyond your college or affinity group
  • A built-in community at alumni events like Pack Midtown, Rodeo and university gatherings
  • Professional and social connections with others in a similar life stage
  • A meaningful way to give back through scholarships and service

The Young Alumni Chapter exists to keep our vibrant community connected while raising scholarship funds for current Nevada students. It is the “catch-all” home for young alumni — regardless of your college, major, or campus involvement.

What we’re building, and what we’re not

We are starting fresh — intentionally. We are not asking you to immediately take on a massive legacy fundraiser. We are not asking for 10+ hours a week. We are inviting a small nucleus of committed leaders to rebuild this chapter in a way that feels:

  • Sustainable
  • Modern
  • Community-driven
  • Energizing

The initial focus would likely be:

  • 2–3 events per year
  • Presence at key alumni/university events
  • Rebuilding membership and connection

Time Commitment: Approximately 3–5 hours per month

Term Length: 2 years, running July–June

Board positions available

Per the chapter bylaws, the Board of Directors includes:

  • President
  • Vice President of Programming
  • Vice President of Membership
  • Vice President of Marketing
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Small Events Chair
  • Members at Large

If you’ve ever wanted to be more involved, meet new people, give back or help shape something meaningful, this is your moment.

What must be true for you to say yes?

We are committed to:

  • Clear expectations
  • Shared leadership (no one carries this alone)
  • Alumni Association support
  • A realistic roadmap for year one
  • Transparent communication

Interested?

Please complete this short 3-minute interest survey.

If you want to lead, support, attend events or simply stay connected — we want to hear from you. This chapter will only be as strong as the community behind it. Come one, come all. Let’s build it together.

With Nevada pride,
The Nevada Alumni Association
