Information for Parents & Guardians
Why parental support is required for Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math Science Program participants:
In order to be accepted into Upward Bound and/or Upward Bound Math Science Program, both students and parents/legal guardians must sign a Participant Contract and Statement of Commitment.
Students agree to comply with Upward Bound Program's rules and codes of conduct to ensure access to free academic services, be eligible for college tours and high school credit, receive invitations to social and cultural activities, and be considered for nomination to a regional residential Math/Science Summer Program.
Throughout the academic year, parents and legal guardians are asked to make sure their children attend all required Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math Science academic programs, tutoring, and advising sessions. It is important for parents and legal guardians to realize that their support for their children’s participation in Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math Science is necessary and required.
