E-waste drop off

According to the World Health Organization, an estimated 62 million tons of e-waste were produced globally in 2022. Only 22.3% was documented as formally collected and recycled. Local services present their own challenges. In Northern Nevada, there are limited options for e-waste recycling. The options that are available, are not broadly communicated and can be inconvenient for students and faculty living on or near campus.

To help address this, our campus has partnered with Intelligent Lifecycle Solutions, a locally based recycling and disposal company, to make sure your old electronics are handled responsibly.

  • Reduce landfill waste: Recycling e-waste prevents valuable materials from ending up in the landfill and protects our community and environment from the potential hazards of improper disposal.
  • Support sustainability on campus: Your donation allows the University to raise a small amount of funding that will go directly toward increasing sustainability efforts on campus.
  • Convenience: Easily recycle old devices on your way to the office or classroom.

E-waste is limited to old cell phones, tablets, cables, headphones, mice and keyboards.
