UNR Med is proud to celebrate third-year medical student Alejandra Sataray-Rodriguez, who has been named a 2025 Chick-fil-A Community Scholar — an honor awarded to just 12 students across the nation.
This prestigious award includes a $25,000 scholarship and a year-long leadership development program designed to empower students who are driving change through service, advocacy and equity. Alejandra’s selection is a powerful testament to her exceptional leadership, academic excellence and deep commitment to underserved communities.
Her recognition shines a national spotlight on UNR Med’s mission to prepare future physicians who lead with purpose, compassion and cultural humility. Alejandra’s work in bilingual care, health equity, and community advocacy continues to make a meaningful impact both locally and nationally.
Over the next year, she will join a cohort of changemakers in mentorship, service projects and leadership training aimed at amplifying her voice in medicine.
We are incredibly proud of Alejandra and all she represents. Her achievements inspire our community and affirm the vital role of empathy and advocacy in healthcare.
Congratulations, Alejandra!
