KUNR Public Radio was listed as the top-ranked station in the Reno radio market in the spring 2022 audience survey by Nielsen Audio, which measures radio listenership across the country.

Out of the 31 stations in the Reno market, KUNR had the highest audience share and ranked number one in the categories of Overall Listening, Afternoon Drive (3 p.m. - 7 p.m.) and Morning Drive (6 a.m. - 10 a.m.), arguably the most critical time slot for radio.

“Our remarkable showing in the spring ratings is a humbling indicator that our region appreciates our work, and we, in turn, deeply appreciate our listeners’ support,” KUNR Executive Editor Brian Duggan said.

A unit of the Reynolds School of Journalism, KUNR is the flagship National Public Radio station in Reno. These most recent ratings reflect the station’s mission to strengthen the community through trusted journalism, entertainment and human connection.

“The KUNR staff works tirelessly to bring our listeners quality journalism and programming about our community and nation each day,” Duggan added.

KUNR/KNCJ Public Media operates three radio stations licensed to the Board of Regents of the Nevada System of Higher Education, as well as a digital presence that includes KUNR.org and the KUNR app. The stations include NPR-member news outlet KUNR, classical and jazz station KNCJ, and KNCC in Elko.
