Top employee lauded for "amazing job" in day-to-day operations

Jodi Gillenwater, Property Inventory Clerk in BCN Purchasing, has been named February's Employee of the Month by the Staff Employees Council.

Gillenwater was lauded by nominator Travis Hamrick for the "amazing job" Gillenwater does during all types of situations.

Hamrick, Property Inventory Clerk and Surplus Manager, said that during a recent absence, "Jodi has filled in for me while I was gone and has done an amazing job. ... She handled all situations with professionalism and I received a lot of good feedback from my students and departments, while I was gone, on hoe she handled these issues."

Hamrick said just one example was the department's monthly surplus sale. Gillenwater had to step in and manage the sale. The sale is usually quite busy, with up to 100 people in a single hour often attending the event.

"It is a very high-stress environment due to the limited amount of space in the warehouse, parking for customers, and the location (downtown next to the Greyhound Bus Station)," Hamrick said. "I couldn't be happier with how the sale went. The sale went very smooth and without any major issues. All the people who worked the sale were impressed with how well everything ran. Complains were handled with courtesy and professionalism by Jodi.

"I am very lucky to be able to work with someone like Jodi, on a day-to-day basis."
