United Way campaign for 2014 wraps up

Prizes for effort distributed on Dec. 4

The 2014-2015 United Way Campaign ran from Oct. 15 through Nov. 19.  This year, the University of Nevada, Reno partnered not only with the United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra, but also the United Way of Southern Nevada for our employees in the south. Overall, a total of $17,028 was raised for both organizations, a slight decrease from 2013's contribution of $20,143. 

As part of the campaign, incentives were offered to employees who made a pledge of $25 or more.  The drawing was held on Dec. 4 and all winners have been notified.  Special thanks to the following for contributing the prizes: Nevada Wolf Shop, Extended Studies, Intercollegiate Athletics, School of the Arts, University of Nevada, Reno Development and Alumni Relations, Cantina del Lobo and the Planetarium.

United Way focuses on providing building blocks for a good quality of life: education, financial stability and health and directly impacts our local community.  Thank you to everyone who supported this year's campaign.
