The University of Nevada, Reno honored its best on Wednesday, May 13 during the annual Honor the Best ceremony. More than 70 University faculty, staff and students were honored.

Awards presented included:

Distinguished Faculty: Richard Davies, professor of History

Distinguished Outreach Faculty: Edwin G. Smith, area extension specialist, UNCE

Distinguished Service: Leah Gorbet, controller, Controller’s Office

Classified Employee of the Year: JoAnne Gipson, program officer, Extended Studies

Cavanaugh Community Volunteer Award: Windi Goodman
