Professor inducted into Western Academy of Nursing

Ann Hubbert, associate professor in the Orvis School of Nursing, has been inducted into the prestigious Western Academy of Nursing of the Western Institute of Nursing. The academy recognizes and honors nurses who have demonstrated excellence in nursing practice and have advanced practice in direct care, education or research. The academy covers the states of Washington, Oregon, Montana, Wyoming, Hawaii, Alaska, Utah, California, New Mexico, Idaho, Colorado and Nevada.

Dr. Hubbert is known for her work with Native American, homeless and aging populations. She was the 2007 Faculty Scholar of the Sanford Center for Aging. Among her many professional activities, she has served as vice president of the Board of Trustees of the Transcultural Nursing Society, and she received the society’s Career Development Research Award in 2003.
