On May 31, University Police Services arrested Ali Aburahma, a graduate student in the country on current Visa status under a Palestinian passport. Aburahma had issued threats of violence toward individuals on campus. He was taken into custody and booked into the Washoe County Detention Center for "making threats" and "for commission of an act in a public building, interfering with the peaceful conduct of activities." The Department of Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE) is involved in the matter and, in conjunction with the State Department, has begun deportation proceedings. When released from the Detention Center, Aburahma will be turned over directly to ICE officers.
