Scoppettone joins School of Medicine as development director

Stefanie Scoppettone, Ph.D., has joined the University of Nevada School of Medicine as Director of Development.

In this capacity she will cultivate potential and known donors with the objective of major gift solicitation on behalf of the School of Medicine. Working with the school's dean, faculty and other stakeholders to create giving opportunities, Scoppettone is responsible for the development of proposals, foundation agreements and other materials that support and document the philanthropic process.

"The School of Medicine is extremely pleased to welcome Dr. Scoppettone to its ranks and put her experience in fundraising and marketing to work for the benefit of the school," said John A. McDonald, M.D., Ph.D., vice president health sciences and medical school dean.

Previously Scoppettone served as development director of the University of Nevada, Reno College of Business Administration. She also has an extensive background with Bally Gaming and Systems and the Unisys Corporation, both in Reno. She has served as lecturer in the core humanities program at UNR and was a teaching fellow while completing her doctorate in English literature.

Scoppettone earned her Ph.D. from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1996; a master's degree in English literature from San Jose State University and a bachelor's degree from University of California, Berkeley.
