Regan named School of Medicine Chief Financial Officer

Jean Regan joins the University of Nevada School of Medicine this month as Chief Financial Officer where she will be responsible for overseeing the budgetary and fiscal affairs of the University of Nevada School of Medicine including planning, monitoring, and managing the School's overall financial plans, policies, programs and operations.

As CFO, Regan assists and advises John A. McDonald, M.D., Ph.D., Vice President of Health Science and Dean in fiscal strategic planning for the School in support of all its missions. Regan will evaluate financial opportunities and prepare and present formal recommendations regarding possible restructuring or enhancement of organizational components.

"I look forward to being a part of a growing medical school that is working to be of more service to the community. We are 'building people' here and getting bigger and that has a very human feel to it. I really like being a part of a relatively young, growing medical school," Regan said.

Regan joins the University of Nevada School of Medicine from the Stanford School of Medicine where she served as controller. Prior to that position, she served Stanford as the associate director of internal audit for the medical school and was with the University of Colorado at Boulder in the accounting/finance and auditing departments. She also held several auditing positions with the Defense Contract Audit Agency in Lakewood, Colorado.

Regan holds an MBA with emphasis in finance and accounting from Regis University of Denver and a bachelor degree in accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey. She is a State of Colorado Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Internal Auditor and a graduate of Harvard Graduate School of Education's Management Development Program.
