Campus mourns the loss of a student

A tragic, off-campus incident early Sunday, Oct. 28, left three people dead. At a private residence in the area of Plumb Lane and Arlington Avenue in Reno, gunshots were fired at approximately 1 a.m. Three were killed, including Derek "DJ" Jensen, 23, a University undergraduate student.

"I am deeply saddened by this senseless tragedy, and know it will cause unimaginable grief for the families and friends of the victims," said Milt Glick, University President. "On behalf of the University community, I extend my deepest sympathies to the families and friends of these three young men."
