Faces of the Pack guidelines
The goal of Faces of the Pack is to highlight students and members of The Wolf Pack Family who have compelling stories. We want to offer a candid look into the featured Pack members’ lives, highlighting more than just accomplishments. Information about any campus services taken advantage of by the featured Pack member should also be included to help get the word out about these services.
Information to consider when writing a FOTP submission:
- Where the person is from?
- Why they chose Nevada?
- What program(s) of study are they in?
- Why did they choose that?
- What do they enjoy about campus?
- Have they been able to build a community here? If so, how and how has that community impacted their lives and studies?
- Do they participate in on-campus activities or use any student-serving (or faculty-serving) facilities? What are they and how have they helped the person in the classroom and beyond?
- What do they think about the Reno/Tahoe area? What do they enjoy about the region?
- What makes them unique and compelling?
- Touch on campus life, academics, specific academic programs, the Reno-Tahoe surroundings and outcomes/results of their studies at the University.
Everyone is unique and has a great story to tell – we just need to find it and help others who read their story see themselves through the person featured. Remember that the best content tells a story while giving helpful tips and inspiration that the reader can use to improve their own lives.
- Length: 700 to 1,000 words
- Tone: Third-person POV, knowledgeable yet approachable, respectful, accessible and readable/entertaining
- Images: Candid shots of the subject on campus are great, if possible. Images they have from projects, programs or events listed are ideal. Images should be high resolution whenever possible, but authenticity matters – don't be afraid to use phone-camera photos to help bring the story to life.
Tips for a successful submission
