Ninth Street Hill

Ninth Street Hill

One of the earliest areas of campus to be landscaped, Ninth St. Hill sports some of the biggest trees on campus, which tower over a spacious, sloping lawn, giving the south edge of campus a verdant, park-like feel, in striking contrast to the neon-lit casinos to the south that can be seen from the grassy hill. Several Nevada Big Trees grow on the Ninth Street hill, the biggest examples of their species in the state: a Green Ash, a Spanish Fir, and a White Spruce.
