About the show
Apex Concerts welcomes the internationally acclaimed Sitkovetsky Trio, praised for performances of “stunningly assured and surprising musicianship” (The Guardian) and widely regarded as one of the leading piano trios of its generation. The ensemble has appeared at many of the world’s major concert halls and festivals, earning recognition for its thoughtful programming, refined ensemble playing and interpretive depth.
The program brings together three distinct perspectives on the piano trio repertoire: the elegance and invention of Joseph Haydn’s Piano Trio in E-flat major, Hob. XV:22; the richly expressive Piano Trio No. 1 in G minor by Cécile Chaminade; and Ludwig van Beethoven’s monumental “Archduke” Trio, a landmark work whose breadth, lyricism and architectural grandeur transformed the possibilities of chamber music.
