June 14, 2023

Dear Wolf Pack Family,

As we celebrate National LGBTQIA+ Pride Month throughout the month of June, it is important that we recognize the LGBTQIA+ members of our University and who throughout all of Nevada are making immense contributions in helping our world each day move closer to the ideals of tolerance, love and understanding.

There are many events and celebrations this month and into July that celebrate the diversity, history and accomplishments of the LGBTQIA+ community. The Northern Nevada Pride event in downtown Reno is scheduled for July 22 and serves as a great reminder of the potential all people have when there is tolerance and acceptance in our world.

Nevada Today has created a news, story and information hub of LGBTQIA+ content related to the University’s role during this important month. It includes the history of the Pride movement, the value and limits of resilience, individual perspectives on what Pride means, and much more.

We stand with the LGBTQIA+ community this month and every month and we are extremely proud of the accomplishments and achievements of our faculty, students and staff who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Go Pack!

Sincere regards,

Brian Sandoval
President
