U.S. News publishes the Best Colleges rankings each year to provide prospective students and their families with the comparative merits of the undergraduate programs at America’s colleges and universities. The rankings offer detailed information about the institutions and data on factors such as graduation rates, graduate indebtedness and post-graduate earnings.

According to the U.S. News & World Report website, to be included in the Best Colleges directory, U.S. institutions must have a significant baccalaureate degree focus, hold regional accreditation, and offer campus-based education. To receive an overall ranking, schools must also enroll at least 100 undergraduates, as well as at least 25 first-time, full-time bachelor's degree-seeking students over the past four years, and award degrees not fully specialized in performing arts or faith-based education. The methodology changes slightly most years, including 2027. For a comprehensive guide on the rankings methodology, visit the How U.S. News Calculated the 2027 Best Colleges Rankings article.

While national rankings offer useful benchmarks, the University’s Office for Prospective Students encourages individuals and families to conduct first-hand research when selecting a college. Campus visits and direct engagement provide insights into the University’s academic environment, campus life, degree offerings, financial aid options and more.
