Now entering its third year as a full-campus event, Nevada Family Weekend returns Sept. 24–27, 2026, as one of the University’s most exciting traditions.

The weekend is designed to welcome families to campus and allow them to experience college life alongside their students. Whether it is attending classes, visiting residence halls, meeting friends or simply spending quality time together, Family Weekend helps families feel more connected to the student experience and the broader Wolf Pack community.

Throughout the weekend, guests can expect a wide variety of events and activities both on campus and throughout the larger Reno area. Signature events include the annual Family Weekend BBQ, two volleyball games, opportunities to participate in yoga and an excursion to the beautiful campus at the University of Nevada, Reno at Lake Tahoe. Families will also be able to cheer on the Wolf Pack football team as they take on one of their conference rivals during an exciting weekend matchup.

In addition to campus programming, visitors will have many opportunities to explore the Reno and enjoy local events happening throughout the weekend, including activities connected to Street Vibrations. With campus traditions, athletic events and community activities happening across the region, families can build a weekend experience that is both engaging and memorable.

Nevada Family Weekend is intended to create meaningful connections between students, their families and the University community while showcasing the energy and spirit that make the University of Nevada, Reno a special place.
