Nevada Athletics on Oct. 1 announced Renown Health as its Official Healthcare Partner in a multifaceted sponsorship agreement that expands the organizations' long-standing relationship and further strengthens their shared commitment to advancing health and wellness throughout the region.

"This partnership reflects the deep and enduring relationship between our University and Renown Health, two institutions that share a commitment to improving lives across our state," said University of Nevada President Brian Sandoval, '86. “We are honored to grow our relationship as we continue to find ways to integrate our two institutions.”

Renown is the largest locally owned, not-for-profit integrated health system in Northern Nevada and has advanced healthcare access, research and innovation throughout the region. In 2021, Renown signed an affiliation agreement with the University to establish Nevada’s first and only academic health system.

“Renown has cared for this community for over 160 years, and the university has educated it for over 150. Becoming the official healthcare partner of Nevada Athletics marks an exciting milestone in our shared legacy of service to Nevada," said Brian Erling, MD, MBA, president and CEO of Renown Health. “This moment feels particularly meaningful as we celebrate the fifth anniversary of Renown and UNR Med’s historic 50-year agreement. Creating a healthier future for Nevadans starts with partnerships that inspire innovation and expand what’s possible.”

As the Official Healthcare Partner, Renown’s branding will appear on jersey patches for both Nevada men's and women's basketball programs. The partnership also includes the placement of Renown’s logo on the court as well as additional arena branding opportunities, access to data and digital marketing platforms for fan engagement, and new opportunities to connect with Wolf Pack fans. At football games, fans will see a Renown medical tent activated when athletes need immediate attention.

"Renown has been an invaluable partner to our university and athletics department, and we welcome this new era in our partnership that elevates their engagement with our passionate Wolf Pack fans," said Stephanie Rempe, Nevada director of athletics.

The sponsorship was facilitated by Wolf Pack Sports Properties, the locally based team of college media and technology Learfield that manages the university's corporate partnerships.

"Our Wolf Pack Sports Properties team is proud to deliver this new agreement, which demonstrates the depth of the relationship between Renown and Nevada Athletics as well as the commitment by Renown to creating meaningful opportunities to connect with students, alumni and supporters through highly impactful platforms,” said Deana Barnes, executive vice president of sports properties for Learfield.
