T. Brian Callister, M.D., SFHM, MACP from UNR Med elected to Mastership in the American College of Physicians

The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine congratulates T. Brian Callister, M.D., SFHM, MACP, professor and vice chair for academic affairs, director of academic hospital medicine, and director of rural medical student education, on his election to Mastership in the American College of Physicians — one of the highest honors bestowed by the organization.

Dr. Callister joins an elite group, as only five Nevada physicians have received Mastership since the ACP’s founding in 1923. This distinction recognizes physicians who have demonstrated excellence in the practice of internal medicine, made exceptional academic and professional contributions, and served with integrity, leadership and compassion.

“I am humbled and honored to receive this recognition from my colleagues, and I am proud to represent UNR Med and the physicians of Nevada with this distinction,” Callister said.

According to the ACP, Mastership is reserved for fellows who have made a lasting impact on medical science, patient care and the profession of medicine. Callister’s dedication to advancing hospital medicine, mentoring future physicians, and improving rural medical education exemplifies these ideals.

UNR Med proudly recognizes Callister’s remarkable achievement and his ongoing commitment to the mission of improving health and health care in Nevada.
