Dear Wolf Pack Family,

Happy Nevada Day Wolf Pack! Tomorrow, we celebrate more than just the 161st anniversary of Nevada becoming the 36th state in our great nation — we celebrate the spirit, resilience, and innovation that define Nevada and our beloved University.

In 1874, just a decade after statehood, Nevada made a bold investment in its future by founding our University in Elko. That decision reflected a deep belief in the power of education to shape lives and communities. Since then, the University of Nevada has grown with our state, becoming a cornerstone of progress and a beacon of excellence.

Our University’s graduates, faculty, and researchers continue to be the driving force of Nevada’s growth. In all fields and in all endeavors, we are providing Nevada and our nation with the next generation of transformative leaders. According to a recent economic analysis, our University contributes $2.2 billion annually to our state’s economy, supporting the equivalent of more than 23,000 jobs! This data further solidifies our commitment to advance learning and opportunity for the communities, state, and nation we serve.
