Week of Democracy
April 25, 2024
Dear Wolf Pack Family,
This 2024 election year gives our campus community yet another opportunity to participate in civic engagement. Voting, encouraging others to vote and engaging in the democratic process allow us to improve our communities, our state and ultimately the world.
Our campus has always been one with high voter turnout, passionate advocacy and a strong understanding that a healthy democracy requires engagement from all. With election day fast approaching, I invite all members of The Wolf Pack Family to participate in this year’s “Week of Democracy,” which will be held next week (April 29 – May 3). This week will feature valuable discussion around crucial topics related to democracy and the upcoming election.
On May 2, we will be joined by journalists from the national news outlet, The Atlantic, for “Democracy at a Crossroads,” a panel discussion about critical election-related issues, followed by a conversation about the importance of free and fair elections with Nevada Secretary of State Francisco Aguilar and Jon Ralston from The Nevada Independent.
On May 3, I will be joined on stage by U.S. Congressman Ro Khanna, who serves the 17th Congressional District of California, and Jon Ralston for “Discussions in Democracy,” a conversation about the importance of voter education, exercising your vote and working in a bipartisan way.
I hope to see many of you at these valuable events, which will give us the opportunity to foster and celebrate civic engagement.

Go Pack!
Sincere regards,
