Leah John made some big pars to close out the third round and hold on to earn her first-career win at The Show at Spanish Trail Tuesday. The Nevada women's golf team finished second with a score of nine over.

The Pack (+9) climbed past two nationally-ranked top-50 teams to finish second behind No. 44 UNLV (-4) with scores of 285, 279, and 309 at The Show at Spanish Trail. It marked the second straight runner-up finish for Nevada. Augusta finished third (+17), No. 43 Furman finished fourth (+24), and No. 42 Washington (+25) finished fifth to round out the top five.

Leah John (-4) paced the field and recorded three straight pars on holes 16, 17, and 18 to round out a 77 for her final round and hold on to win her first-career tournament at The Show at Spanish Trail hosted by UNLV. John bested Kendall Todd (UNLV) by two strokes (-2) and Nicole Lorup (UNLV) by three strokes (-1) to earn the individual victory.

The junior from Vancouver, B.C., Canada posted back-to-back career-bests with rounds of 69 and 66 during yesterday's opening 36 holes. John did just enough to hold on to the win after posting a five-over 77 today to finish with the lowest score of the tournament (212), which was also tied for the third-lowest 54-hole tournament score in program history (Angie Yoon, 1998-99, 212 & Celyn Khoo, 2015-16, 212).

Anitra Khoth shot 77 during the final round to close the day five-over after moving through the first two rounds at even-par. Khoth finished tied for 13th and capped the day with a nice birdie on 18. Victoria Gailey shot 76 during the closing 18 holes to finish eight over and tied for 28th. Kaitlin Fleiner ran into some trouble on the back-nine of today's final round with a triple bogey on 13, a double bogey on 16, and a bogey on 17 to finish 10 over (83) and tied for 35th. Danni Ujimori posted one birdie on 17 but a triple bogey on 14 and a double bogey on one dropped her score to seven over with a 79 for the final round.

The Pack is back in action on Monday, Feb. 28-Mar. 1 in the Gunrock Invitational hosted by UC Davis at Del Paso Country Club in Sacramento, Calif.
