With dedicated space for all five departments of the College of Engineering, the 100,000-square-foot William N. Pennington Engineering Building includes more than 40 laboratories, a large computer lab, a 200-student classroom, 150 graduate work stations and a Class 100 cleanroom. The Class 100 Cleanroom reduces air contaminants from an average of up to 1,000,000 parts per cubic foot down to 100 and allows for research in biosensing and nanotechnology. It facilitates research in materials science and engineering, chemical, biomedical, and mechanical engineering. The building is also home to the College of Engineering dean’s office.
