Golden Pinecone Award Recipient Announced

Former ASUN Director of Sustainability honored for EdPASS campaign work

Graduating senior Elizabeth Guillen has received the Golden Pinecone Sustainable Milestone community award. The Golden Pinecone Awards is a legacy event initiated by Environmental Leadership and run for more than 25 years by Environmental Leadership, Nevada EcoNET and more recently, greenUP!

Guillen was honored with this award for her prior work as the Director of Sustainability for the Associated Students of the University of Nevada. Specifically, the award recognizes the progress that Guillen made with the EdPASS campaign, a service that allows anyone with a Wolfcard ride the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) buses anywhere in Washoe County for free.

Guillen will officially be honored on Thursday, April 13 at the Golden Pinecone Awards ceremony.
