A faculty forum on the 2011 budget crisis for the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) has been scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 23, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (presentation beginning at 12:15 p.m.) in the Joe Crowley Student Union Ballroom A.

The event, sponsored by the Nevada Faculty Alliance (NFA) and the University of Nevada, Reno Faculty Senate, will be a discussion on what is looming for NSHE and what faculty can do to influence the process.

Featured speakers include James Richardson, professor of sociology at the University and longtime NFA legislative lobbyist, Eric Herzik, professor of political science and chair of the University Faculty Senate, as well as comments from William Raggio, a University alumnus who recently retired from the Nevada State Senate following a distinguished 38-year tenure.

A light lunch will be served. RSVP's are being welcomed by Monday, Feb. 21, to the Faculty Senate Office.
