By John Trent

More than 500 people greeted Vice President Joe Biden on Wednesday in the Virginia Street Gym, as Biden made a campaign-sponsored appearance on the University of Nevada, Reno campus in support of Nevada U.S. Sen. Harry Reid.

Biden’s stop was the latest of several other visits to the Nevada campus in recent days by notable current of former governmental figures.

On Monday, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar addressed an environmental policy class taught by Derek Kauneckis, assistant professor of political science. About 50 people attended the Q&A session.

On Tuesday, former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson addressed an audience in the William Raggio Building on a variety of topics, from politics to economics to foreign and domestic policy.
