Nominations needed for Classified Employee of the Year

February 4, 2009
By Jon Fortenbury

The Staff Employees’ Council of the University of Nevada, Reno is accepting nominations for the 2009 Classified Employee of the Year award. Nominations must be received by 5 p.m. on March 31 in person or by mail. They can be made by faculty, students and staff.

The winner receives a plaque and is honored at the “Honor the Best” ceremony on May 13. They also receive a free lunch at the Staff Employee Council luncheon. Last year Fred Reid, an employee in the College of Liberal Arts, won the award.

“It’s a kind of morale booster to show an appreciation to people all over campus,” said Marie Tully, a University library technician.

The nomination form with the address, where to send it and employee criteria can be found online on the SEC Forms Page. Nominations can also be submitted in person in Room 2 of the Artemesia Building. Nominations should cover all five criteria and should include real life examples of the employee's success.

For more information, contact Marie Tully at mtully@casat.org or (775) 682-9108.
