Getting Involved at UNR & Vet2Vet

Getting Involved at UNR:

Student Veterans of America (SVA)

The heart of SVA is the student veteran led chapter. These local organizations are the “boots on the ground” that provide peer-to-peer support, which has been linked to academic success and an easier transition to campus for student veterans. Through this national network of affiliates, SVA impacts the lives of thousands of student veterans. To support this growing network, SVA invests in high-impact programs that sustain chapters and empower student veterans to achieve their academic goals

Wolf Pack Vets

Our goal as a Wolf Pack Veteran is to complete our higher education goals, and reach a higher academic standard. As a member of the Wolf Pack Veterans you will meet other highly motivated students that have a background in military service. Together as members of the Wolf Pack Veterans we will make a stronger community on the Nevada campus. The membership is free but your participation is required. Connect with us on Facebook or email

Omega Delta Sigma (ODS)
Omega Delta Sigma, Nevada Alpha chapter, is the only nationally recognized co-ed veteran and military fraternity at the University of Nevada. We accept membership from students who are veterans, Guard/ Reserve, or Active duty that are attending UNR and/or TMCC. ODS exists to provide veterans and military members attending school with the opportunity to network with other military members, help with the transition process, student leadership positions, community volunteering, as well as providing the opportunity to socialize with other veteran and military students. ODS is also part of the Multicultural Greek Council at UNR, which gives us the chance to be a part of many Greek and University events. ODS is always accepting new membership. Vet2Vet program is to assist in student veterans' successful transition to the University. Vet2Vet Ambassadors will support new students in integrating information on extra and co-curricular involvement, health and wellness, enhancing professional skills and engaging with the greater community for success beyond the classroom.

Our vision is to be the first line of defense to help identify the at-risk veteran/dependent/service member that is having challenges adjusting to campus life before academic performance is negatively impacted. We will be guide to the student to help develop a situation that breeds success.

New Students will gain tremendous knowledge of campus life and experience networking with Ambassadors while receiving guidance. Ambassadors will be trained in campus knowledge and program protocol to be most effective. Ambassadors will have the benefit of working with bright and energetic students, the satisfaction of being a role model, and the opportunity to apply one's leadership and higher education experiences. The New Student and Ambassadors will be matched for a period of one semester. At that time, either party will be able to renew their match, be matched with a new person, or leave the program. Pairs will have opportunity to meet throughout the school year and are expected to communicate in some capacity each month to talk about how to navigate the college experience. Ambassadors will be trained and advised by Veteran Services to ensure the success of the program. Fill out Ambassador Application
