The Vahidi Lab is interested in a broad array of circular economy, environmental sustainability, and critical materials. The research includes laboratory works as well as modeling approaches to study the environmental impacts associated with various processes and products.

Project overview

In this project, the recovery of critical metals from their primary and secondary resources will be evaluated. We will use state-of-the-art methods and equipment to investigate various experimental and modeling approaches. To meet the global demand for lithium, it is essential to use environmentally friendly methods. The main goal of this project is to elevate the efficiency of the process, reduce environmental impacts, and design a new approach to producing such materials. Students will start by conducting literature reviews about the previous investigations and then, they will carry out desk studies, lab experiments and modeling.
