Yann Tison: Surface science
Introduction to surface science
Pau, France: Université de Pau et des Pays de L’Adour
Yann Tison is associate professor at the University of Pau (UPPA), France. He is a permanent member of the Physical Chemistry group and specializes in Surface Science (Scanning Probe Microscopies and Electron Spectroscopies). He received his Ph.D. from UPPA in 2003. From 2004 to 2007, he was a postdoc at the University of Surrey, UK. From 2007 to 2010, he worked at the Technical University of Denmark, and then at the Université Paris Diderot before joining UPPA in 2013. His research focuses on the use of Surface Science to better understand the behavior of battery electrodes, as well as the structural and electronic properties of nanomaterials. He also collaborates with theoreticians in order to improve the modelling of surface properties at the nanometer scale.
In the project, students will be introduced to surface science through participation in Dr. Tison’s research activities, in the field of battery electrodes or nanomaterials.
