Lauren M. Block joined the Department of Criminal Justice as an assistant professor in the fall of 2015. She received her Master's in criminal justice and Ph.D. in criminal justice and criminology from Washington State University. She worked previously as a research associate with the Washington State Institute for Criminal Justice.
Her research interests include court and case management policies, pretrial procedures and sentencing, effectiveness of problem-solving courts, pretrial risk assessment and the organizational behavior of courtroom workgroups. She currently teaches undergraduate courses on the legal system, court systems in the U.S. and research methods.
