The WUE tuition scholarship

When you apply to the University of Nevada, Reno, you're automatically considered for a WUE tuition scholarship—no separate application required.

Why WUE?

✭ Pay 50% less in out-of-state tuition

Full out-of-state tuition is $24,222 (30 credits). You only pay $11,520 with WUE.

✭ No separate application required

All you have to do is apply to the University to be considered for WUE. That's it.

✭ Keep WUE for up to four years

You will continue to receive WUE benefits for up to four consecutive years while earning your first bachelor’s degree.

✭ No GPA requirements required to maintain WUE benefits

You are not required to maintain a minimum GPA to retain WUE.

✭ Open to all majors

Choose from 145+ majors, from engineering to English.

✭ No minimum semester credits

You are not required to enroll in a minimum number of semester credits to retain WUE.

First-year student requirements

✔ You must reside in a participating WUE state or territory

✔ You must be seeking your first bachelor’s degree

✔ You must enroll for the fall immediately following high school graduation

✔ You must meet ONE of the following academic qualifications:

  • 3.25 GPA (unweighted); OR
  • 1160 SAT (single test score); OR
  • 24 ACT (single test score)

Test scores are not required for admission. Students may qualify for WUE based on just their GPA.

Participating WUE states

Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, the territory of Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
