Award winners for the 2015-16 academic year

  • We are pleased to announce that Professor Ostergard is this year's winner of the Senator Alan Bible Teaching Award. Well deserved!
  • Congratulations, Michael Pappas, an International Affairs major. Mr. Pappas was named the outstanding social science graduate for the College of Liberal Arts. Mr. Pappas is also the "Senior Scholar" for the College.
  • We are pleased to congratulate Mitra Assoudeh, who has been awarded a Bilinski Fellowship to support her dissertation " Shaping Cybersecurity: China, Iran, and the United States in a Comparative Perspective."
  • We are pleased to announce that Professor Jennifer Ring has been awarded this year's College of Liberal Arts Dean's Award for Outstanding Research and Artistry. She will be will be recognized at the Dean's Faculty and Staff Awards on Friday, April 22 at 4:00pm.
  • We are pleased to announce that Professor Robert Ostergard has been selected as the Undergraduate Research Faculty Mentor for 2016. This award will be presented at the Honor the Best Honor the Best ceremony and reception, Tuesday, May 10, 2016 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM in the Joe Crowley Student Union Ballroom. Below is a summary of his achievements which led to his selection. Congratulations Professor Ostergard.

    The selection committee noted "This award recognizes Dr. Ostergard's impressive dedication and excellent results in mentoring undergraduate students in research. Major achievements include advising 31 undergraduate students on 26 projects, over 15 awards received by his undergraduate students - including UNR's first Marshall Scholarship, 8 HURA, and 2 GURA awards, - and about 15 student publications and presentations that resulted from these projects." This is an impressive record of mentoring and speaks to great dedication to undergraduate research. We are fortunate to have you at UNR.
