Be Safe on Campus
On behalf of the men and women of University of Nevada, Reno Police Services, I welcome you to our website.
While the department provides a variety of services, our main goal remains making our campus a safe place to live, study and work. This is accomplished through a Community Oriented Policing philosophy, thus our motto "Community First". One of the primary guiding values of University Police Services is accountability. We hold ourselves accountable at all times to each other, our superiors and our community.
We believe that to create a safe, cooperative environment we must fully inform the campus community about policies regarding safety, security, crimes that occur on or near campus, and to provide programs and services that align with this objective. You can find this information throughout this website.
I encourage you to be safe on our campus by making personal safety your number one priority. Awareness, Avoidance and Risk Reduction is the best way to not be a victim.
The following safety tips can be used on a daily basis. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions about our practices, policies, or the handling of a particular police matter, I encourage you to contact me directly.
Chief of Police, University of Nevada, Reno
