For the love of Shakespeare
Whenever people throughout the world want to know more about Shakespeare, they turn to one person: English Professor Eric Rasmussen.
Since joining the University nearly 20 years ago, Rasmussen has established himself as the world's pre-eminent expert on Shakespeare's life, writing and language.
Consider that Rasmussen's knowledge of Shakespeare's work is at an almost molecular level. He knows, for example, that Shakespeare had a tendency to close up his "u's" which made them look more like "a's."
The National Endowment for the Humanities scholar is co-editor of "The Royal Shakespeare Company Complete Works of Shakespeare" - now the standard text for Shakespeare studies and dramatic productions.
Find out how Dr. Rasmussen was instrumental in the staging of one of the first "Original Pronunciation" productions of "Hamlet" in centuries: http://newsroom.unr.edu/2011/10/25/university-of-nevada-reno-takes-center-stage-as-shakespeare-debate-heats-up/
