AWQ Davidson Academy Team

Davidson Academy's Best Ever WorldQuest!

Congratulations to the Davidson Academy Academic WorldQuest (AWQ) team which came in fifth at the national competition on April 28th in Washington, DC! Davidson beat out other high school teams at the local WorldQuest competition at UNR on January 28th to earn the right to go up against 45 high school teams from across the nation at the national competition. Team members Alexander Alvarado, Nikesh Mishra, Bella Noonan, Jason Scharoun and coach Josh Bahn also attended a gala reception at the US Institute of Peace and caught some sights in our nation's capital before returning to Reno to finish up the semester.

This excellent finish is the best ever for an Academic WorldQuest team from Nevada and a great way to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the NNIC's AWQ sponsorship. Of course there are longer-term reasons we like to be involved as well: Team member Bella Noonan stated, "WorldQuest has proven the catalyst for my choosing to study political science at university!"

Congratulations again to Davidson, and we are looking forward to next year's local competition in January 2019.
