Manuel Mederos brings to the Northern Nevada International Center (NNIC) years of community engagement. Manuel currently serves as the language access specialist for the Language Bank as well as the Refugee Youth Advocate for the Refugee Resettlement program. Manuel has a long history with NNIC: he started as a Spanish teacher for the after school language immersion program and, years later, managed multiple youth leadership exchange programs for NNIC.
Manuel currently oversees and manages the functions of the Language Bank, which provides high quality interpretation and document translation services to the government, corporate, legal, and healthcare industries. Manuel is an advocate for language access to Limited English Proficiency individuals, as well as for the arts, youth, education, and civil and human rights.
