You’ve seen them. They’re cool. They’re special. Often you see one ‘lone. Sometimes you see several running in a Pack. It always seems they are in front of you. You may have one. If you don’t, you ask, “How do I get one?” Of course, I am talking about the Wolf Pack license plate offered by the Nevada DMV. Well, not only are you displaying your Wolf Pack pride for everyone on the road to see, you are supporting students at the University of Nevada, Reno through a scholarship fund.
This year the Nevada Alumni Association awarded $81,000 in scholarships – $30,000 alone came from the Wolf Pack license plate fund (the fund supports other student services at the University too). A portion of each Wolf Pack license plate fee goes to support University students, with the cost being $25 for the initial year and $20 each year renewed. If you already have a plate, rest assured, your support is seen on the road and on the Quad. If you would like to run with the Pack on the highway while supporting current students, our future alumni, then go to https://dmvnv.com/platescharitable.htm or your local DMV office. Let’s “Go Pack” the roads with these plates!
For those who do not live in Nevada, you can still support Alumni Association scholarships through the “Class of …. Scholarship” endowments. As you can see with the license plate fund, small contributions add up to a big number. To learn more or donate to your “Class of …. Scholarship” endowment, please contact Torrey Hood, director of annual giving at firstname.lastname@example.org or (775) 682-6544, or online at https://www.unr.edu/giving.
