Alumni Gatherings Spring 2020

ALUMNI GATHERINGS

Painting with the Pack

On June 25 and Aug. 20, the Nevada Alumni Association teamed up with local business Picasso & Wine to provide virtual painting lessons for alumni, family and friends. These two-hour painting sessions were instructed by Picasso & Wine’s owner, Alissa Woods. The first class learned how to paint a scenic sunset landscape of Lake Tahoe and the second night participants painted a gorgeous fall landscape of the University’s Quad.

Virtual tour of The Lilley Museum of Art

Throughout the month of July, the Nevada Alumni Association hosted an Art & Music Appreciation campaign on social media. We coordinated a virtual tour of The John and Geraldine Lilley Museum of Art located inside the University Arts Building, which broadcasted on July 16 on our YouTube channel. The tour was conducted by Museum Director Vivian Zavataro ’14 and was followed by a live Q&A session. To view this virtual tour of The Lilley, visit the Nevada Alumni Association’s YouTube channel.

Cookie Decorating with the Pack and Delicious Designs

The Nevada Alumni Association joined forces with Truckee Meadows Community College to host Cookie Decorating with the Pack on July 9. Sharing some of her best tips and tricks for confectionary decorating, the owner of Delicious Designs, Leigh Anne Page, helped participants create a box of adorable summer-themed cookies to take home.

Cupcake Decorating with Batch Cupcakery

Throughout the summer the Nevada Alumni Association continued looking for fun, socially distanced activities and in July, we partnered with Batch Cupcakery to create cupcake kits to decorate at home. Batch provided the supplies and our alumni provided the creativity. Thanks to everyone who shared their photos!

Picnic with your Pack

Since we couldn’t gather this year for Pack Picnics on the Quad, we created a virtual version so no one had to miss out on this long-standing tradition! Picnic favorite, Jelly Bread, livestreamed a concert through Facebook Live on Aug. 5 to all who tuned in. We loved seeing everyone joining us virtually to enjoy a fun-filled evening with great music!

Unable to host this summer’s Yoga on the Quad series in-person, we teamed up with yoga instructor and alumna Cindy Myatt ’15 from the E. L. Wiegand Fitness Center to provide virtual classes on July 25 and Aug. 29. These Saturday morning yoga sessions from home were a great way to kick off our weekend feeling relaxed and recharged!

Donut Decorating PACKS with DoughBoys Donuts

The Nevada Alumni Association teamed up with local business DoughBoys Donuts to create boxes of six glazed Wolf Pack Paws, ready to be decorated with silver and blue frosting and sprinkles. For every donut decorating box sold, DoughBoys generously donated $2 to support Pack Provisions, the University’s on-campus food pantry.
